The Western Museum of Mining and Industry is hosting a panel discussion on hydraulic fracturing. Hydraulic fracturing is a process where pressurized liquid is pumped into underground formations, causing fractures in the formation in order to release oil or gas for extraction.
Representatives of industry, environmental concerns and the media will be represented. The lecture is free and open to the public. The scheduled panelists are:

Wintergreen is an annual anniversary celebration event hosted by the U.S. Green Building Council Colorado Southern Branch. Lee Smit, Sustainability Manager, Douglas County Schools will present on the no cost energy program implemented at the school district and how the program encourages student leadership and puts money back into the classroom. Over the past four years the program has saved a total of $11M.
