Outdoor Explorers – Day Camp +1 Overnight

Ages 9-11 | $385

The week will be filled with choice lessons taught by the Catamount Institute Summer staff members, owl pellet dissections, hikes, games, and lessons on stewardship! We will stretch your muscles and overcome fears rock climbing at City Rock. Pack your sleeping bag Thursday for an overnight, complete with the glow of a campfire and s’mores.  Explore all things outdoors, and let your love of nature run wild at Catamount Institute’s Outdoor Explorers nature adventure Camp!

*Please note. The week of July 16-20 the camp in Colorado Springs and Woodland Park will combine for some elements. While they do have thier own staff there will be an opportunity for the campers to meet the kids from the other town.

Where is camp drop off?

The Colorado Springs location of this camp will be at Catamount Institute located at 740 W. Caramillo St. Colorado Springs, CO 80907 MAP. Monday -Wednesday for the overnight portion Thursday and Friday will be as follows.

Overnight Locations are – Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp 709 County Road 62, Divide, CO 80814, MAP or John Wesley Ranch, 21285 CO-67, Divide, CO 80814

Our Teller County Location is Aspen Valley Ranch and the overnight will be at the John Wesley Ranch

Can I get a ride from Colorado Springs for the overnight?

Sign your camper up to ride in the vans with us from Catamount Institute in Colorado Springs.  Catamount Institute is located at 740 W. Caramillo St. Colorado Springs, CO 80907 MAP. There is a $25 fee to ride in the van round trip.

What time is the camp drop off and pick up?

Monday thru Wednesday drop off is 9:00am and pick up is 4:00pm at Catamount Institute

For the Overnight drop off to ride in the van from Colorado Springs will be 8:15am on Thursday and pick up 4:00pm Friday at Catamount Institute

Drop off at the overnight locations if you are driving your camper will be at 9:45am Thursday and pickup will be 3:00pm Friday.

What do we need to pack for camp?

For this day camp (plus one overnight trip on Thursday), please pack a snack, lunch, and water bottle for your camper each day Monday-Thursday(Catamount Institute provides dinner Thursday, plus breakfast and lunch on Friday.).  Come dressed to be outside all day in the rain or sun.  We recommend campers put sunscreen on in the morning before camp and have a bottle for re-application at lunch if needed.  Also have your camper wear or bring a brimmed hat, jacket (rain jacket), tennis shoes or hiking boots.

Campers will be doing some serious exploring outside so please send them in clothing you don’t mind getting wet and muddy. 

Campers should arrive at  Thursday morning with an overnight bag packed with a change of clothes, toiletries, and a sleeping bag or sheets and a blanket for a twin bed. (We have sleeping bags to borrow please let us know if you need one).

Please pack any and all medications the campers may need in their original containers with prescriber notes.
