Catamount Institute offers pre-designed field trips that are encouraging and exciting to students. You also have the option of designing a field trip that is perfect for your students and compliments what you are already teaching in the classroom. This added feature allows flexibility for you to choose topics and times; mix and match to create a day your student won’t forget! Keepers of the Water
An interactive and highly rewarding 2 hour field trip program offered at the Catamount Institute in Colorado Springs. Keepers of the Water promotes an enriched understanding of water conservation and ecology. Students are guided through a series of science activity rotations that demonstrate how water can be both positively and negatively affected by people.

Keepers of the earth
It is becoming increasingly important to teach future generations about sustainability, and Keepers of the Earth is one way to do just that. In this 3 hour field trip, modeled after our successful Keepers of the Water program, students study alternative energies through interactive and creative experiments. Students will gain insight and understanding about earths limited resources and what it means to be sustainable.

IN-SCHOOL FIELD TRIPS
With the rising costs of using buses we have a low cost option to bring a field trip to your school. Our education department will tailor a field trip based on the ecology surrounding your own school.

Study a creek or pond near your school* Choose at least three lessons and your students will be invited to present water-related projects at Colorado College at the annual Student Symposium.

Reservations are required 3 weeks before field trip.
Cost is $2.50 per student, per hour.
In-School Field Trip Program Fee $58/trip
$0.36/Mile travel fee round trip (in-school field trips only)
