This semester students will be engaged in a shortened and condensed version (no less fun!) of YES Club. Over the course of 8 weeks the club will focus on ‘Science in the Sky!’
Science in the sky is the study of the airborne particles, big and small, that depend on each other and live together in the atmosphere above Earth’s surface. Topics will include bird watching, weather predicting, launching a rocket, sundials, and more!
Currently only at Centennial, Monterey, and Soaring Eagles Elementary Schools.

Learning Outcomes
- By studying birds, humans can learn about weather and climate changes.
- Develop awareness of issues facing birds, bugs, and air quality in Colorado
- Become better stewards of natural resources as they learn how human choices affect the world around them.
- Enrich their capacity for systems thinking — understanding the connections between and among components of any type of system.
- Deepen their knowledge about the biotic and abiotic components the ecosystems.
- Practice critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills.
