Operations Manager

Essential Functions (Primary Responsibilities):

The Operations Manager will execute the vision and goals of Catamount Institute, guided by the leadership team. They will report to the Executive Director and the Director of Education. These duties include:

  • Oversee and schedule education staff 
  • Responsible for hiring, onboarding, training, and evaluating education staff
  • Support and advise education staff in their roles and responsibilities 
  • Attend and represent in community events outside of regular business hours 
  • Communicate with the customer base to schedule and plan all programs 
  • Develop and strategize current and new programs
  • Strategize with leadership team long and short-term goals 
  • Collaborate with the Financial Manager to secure funding  
  • Collaborate with the education team to increase the quality and efficiency of programs 
  • Meet expectations of partner organization’s requirements for employees 
  • Engage in community outreach and fundraising 
  • Responsible for personnel and staff performance reviews  
  • Marketing and social media 
  • Collaborate with partner organizations to support outdoor education in the Pikes Peak Region 
  • Adhere to budget and work with the leadership team on budget development and oversight
  • Collaborate on business development with new partners and collaborators 
  • Represent Catamount Institute in a professional and positive manner 

Additional Functions (Secondary Responsibilities):

  • Carry out operation needs (building, vans, and technology support) 
  • Facilitate and support year-round programs 
  • Develop and improve program resources 
  • Analyze evaluation data for the program’s performance measures 
  • Attend training as directed to maintain relevant knowledge and certifications 
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Attention to detail with excellent follow-through
  • 40 hour work week, including weekend and evening events

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business Administration, Recreation, or related field, OR Equivalent Experience may be considered
  • Experience supervising a team or group of people with 2 years of manager /leadership experience 
  • Ability to collaborate with the team effectively
  • A strong desire to create positive change
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; computer literate
  • Ability to pass criminal history background checks required
  • Reliable transportation required
  • U.S. Citizenship or legal to work in the U.S. is required 

Location: This position is full-time, in-person, at Catamount Institute, 740 W Caramillo St, Colorado Springs, CO 80907.

Benefits:

  • Salary range: $42,000 – 48,500
