Exploration: The Science
of Discovery
If you asked kids what they like doing out in the woods, an often heard answer is exploring! But could they really mean science? What is the difference between an explorer and a scientist, anyway? Both start with speculations, then they check on the accuracy of those hypotheses through gathering evidence, and use that evidence to further plan and speculate some more. Fourth and Fifth grade students will learn the scientific method behind exploring and much more, in a 8-week course on the science of exploring!
